Access Policy

European Accessibility Act

The European Accessibility Act (EAA) is a set of accessibility requirements
shared by all EU member states.

The European Accessibility Act (EAA) includes several exemptions that allow certain organizations and services to avoid compliance requirements. Key exemptions include:
Microenterprises: Businesses with fewer than 10 employees and an annual turnover of up to €2 million are exempt from ensuring their services are accessible to persons with disabilities.
Disproportionate Burden: Exemptions apply if compliance would impose an undue burden on the business, requiring evidence to justify the exemption.
Bespoke Solutions: Custom solutions that do not conform to standard accessibility requirements may also be exempt.
Confidentiality Constraints: Certain services that require confidentiality may be exempt from compliance.
These exemptions aim to ensure that the EAA does not impose an unreasonable burden on businesses while still promoting accessibility for all users.
