‘Murder Mystery’
A married couple, on a vacation to Europe to give their marriage a second chance, get framed for the murder of an elderly billionaire.
Adam Sandler plays a New York cop who has long-promised a European trip to his wife, played by Jennifer Aniston. A chance meeting on a flight with a mysterious man gets them invited to an intimate family gathering on the super yacht of an elderly billionaire.
But when the wealthy man is murdered, the pair become the prime suspects……….
Background to the film
James Vanderbilt wrote the screenplay for this mystery comedy.
Originally Charlize Theron was reported as signed to the show in 2012, but a year later the cast was reported as Adam Sandler Colin Firth, and Emily Blunt. Representatives of Firth and Blunt later denied that the two were boarding the film and Theron later left the project. It was not until March 2018 that Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston were announced as having signed to star in the film. The new director is Kyle Newacheck.
