As you might expect from a website called magnum-mania, the top place in the list of America’s Top Sleuths goes to Thomas Magnum, the main character in Magnum, P.I.
The show, which starred Tom Selleck as Magnum, ran from 1980 to 1988. Magnum was a private investigator in Hawaii. He lived in the guest house on Robin Masters’ estate, as security for the estate. This job came with an almost unlimited access to a Ferrari.
He had a love-hate friendship with Higgins, who tried to impose an orderly regimen on Magnum’s disordered lifestyle. Other friends, who got roped in to help his investigations were his former Vietnam comrades Rick and TC.
2018 reboot
Jay Hernandez will be playing Magnum in the soon to be shown reboot of the series. This time Higgins becomes Juliet Higgins, played by Perdita Weeks. The series is set to premiere on September 24, 2018.
