As it was Christmas, the City Adventurers headed to another magical land for a festive celebration. This time we were visiting Nursery Rhyme Land (or The Concorde, Eastleigh in Hampshire as it is better known).
The Plot
All is well in Nursery Rhyme Land.
Bo-Beep is tending her sheep, and Humpty sits on his wall.
The Duke of York is marching his men, up that hill, and down again.
And any time now, right on cue, Humpty Dumpty will fall.
But wait, what’s this!
Something is wrong in Nursery Rhyme Land.
Something is here that shouldn’t be here, something that someone wants back.
There’s going to be trouble, the trouble will double,
And soon someone will crack.
The Evening
Old King Cole was milling about when we got there. As was the Queen of Hearts and the Grand old Duke of York. The Baker was in a fluster as she was ordered to bake more pastries for the troops as there was a threat of war and everyone knows an army marches on its stomach.
Little Boy Blue was being stroppy and falling asleep at every opportunity. No wonder Bo-Peep was upset her sheep had all gone missing if that was the sort of shepherding assistance she was dealing with. Little jack Horner was rushing around too. His most pressing thought was proposing to his girlfriend, Mary. Luckily she still has her little lamb….or so we were told.
And then there was Humpty Dumpty. A wise old egg who used to be Old King Cole’s friend and confidant…….until recently.
What could have happened to turn the King away from his friend?
And why was there a threat of war in Nursery Rhyme Land?
And who would be evil enough to push Humpty Dumpty off the wall to his death?
Could the City Adventurers deduce who was the murderer in Once Upon A Crime? The answer is yes!
