The City adventurers were going to the races……well, we were heading for a pretend racetrack in central London to investigate a murder mystery. The Final Furlong was a race horse themed murder mystery preformed by Moonstone Murder Mysteries.
The Plot
Horse Racing themed Whodunnit
Place your bets! It’s the annual Rockstone Park Derby and crowds have packed around the track, for a chance at winning a wager or two. As the Horses line up in the starting stalls, there is no sign of the bookie’s favourite. It’s a little hard for them to make it to the race, however, when their jockey is discovered dead in the stables!
With the Horse having quite literally bolted on this mystery, it’s up to Inspector Rutherford’s at the Rockstone Park VIPs to crack the case before it’s too late.

Review
We arrived at the Colab Tower for the midweek evening event. Having been warned there was a bar available but not food, we were surprised to find there were bar snacks available – spicy chicken wings and loaded chips etc. Although, if you do go for the loaded chips, which I am told tasted lovely, it helps if you have brought your own fork as there was no cutlery available and it proved a little difficult to eat.
We expected the action to take place on the small stage, but that wasn’t the case. Inspector Rutherford walked around the audience describing the set up of the murder mystery and giving details of the suspects. Then the suspects arrived and circulated the room, talking to each individual table.
Periodically the Inspector would call the room to order and question a particular member of the investigation.
At the end of the night the audience were invited to vote on who they thought was the guilty party. Although we had been discussing the facts as a table there was a difference of opinion . Not a problem as everyone had an individual vote. In the end most people uncovered the truth and named the right person.
A fun evening out. Our group are looking forward to attending more live action Moonstone Murder Mysteries.
